ho shits i got new additions....all in a period of less than a week.

I feel the need to update. I also want to keep my new tattoo a secret until I get a picture, but, instead I'll tell you it's a nautilus shell. lol. It looks amazing. and hurts so good. I also feel like being very obvious and explaining why. I would guess most people will see it and simply say "oh, it's just a nice shell". I love it for it demonstraition of the golden mean. It's seriously the only evidence of a higher force. and it's friggen everywhere in nature and life (mostly mine lol).

I also got 2, er, rather 4 surface peircings. It was definately a spontaneous thing. I was with my mom when she was getting her tatt done and i was itching for a new peircing, and then I saw some stuff in the display cases...and there were surface peircings with tops that look like screws....so I knew I needed them...they'd go with my gears. the only problem is that I have to wait a while until these heal to get the screw ones. ah well. I still don't know how I feel about surface peircings...good thing they aren't perminant like tattoos.

Maia actually got a really cool nautilus based tattoo. Hers talks more about the mathematical aspect of it's design. the spiral shape on hers is the number Pi. How fucken cool is that. She has it placed awesomely on her shoulder too.

Life honestly has been very dull since that. I've had to do a lot of doctors check-ups and appointments. I'm so busy moving shit around from one place to another in Cleveland and Chicago I really haven't had much time to really think about/do anything else. that and my mom has decided to re-do half the house and suddenly need to pack and and store all this shit. I should appologize to everyone who's been trying to get ahold of me lately I've had all this crap to deal with.

OK SO

I'm home.ish. and I need to continue working on my mold making skills and construction/problemsolving etc.

So I've decided to start making gas masks...

If any one of you designs a gas mask, I'll attempt to make it and give you a copy--

I have access to Latex (which can be made any colour that's needed), leather, and I can probably get/make any metal parts that may also appear in a design.

I'll start as soon as I get the first design!

ok this is dorking time, but i just made the best discovery...I also realized no one will probably know what I'm talking about either, but uh, I gotta get this down somewhere.

ok. so. My werewolf is ALMOST FRIGGEN DONE. But i ran into a really big problem;

I decided to use tin-based silicone for the face.

PROS- skin-like, very elastic

CONS- no paint or make-up sticks to it, no glues or epoxies will stick to it. ARG!!!!!

I REALLY wanted to use DragonSkin, a Platinum-based silicone,( which is what the professional industry uses) but platinum-based silicones won't cure in/with anything that has sulfur in it, such as latex...and i'd done about 3 junk casts with latex...oops...so using this was my only option really.

ok, so to solve the painting problem, I've found you can luckily pigment the silicone whilst its being mixed (it comes a milky clearish colour). I've decided to do things slow (now that finals are over) and go inn little by little and colour everything in the mold by pigmenting things in steps....this could take forever, but i think it'll be worth it when i'm done....hopefully. The thought had also crossed my mind that i could always research some sort of thinner i could mix into the silicone to make it more liquid so i could airbrush it, the only problem there is that it would probably be extremely toxic and really gunk up the airbrush....

as for gluing it, i'm extatic to say I've come up with a really great solution (which I'm testing as I type). I did some research on trying to see what would stick, like rubber and plastic epoxy, super glue, and silicone caulk/glue, and all of these attempts failed miserably. So I was down in the dumps for a bit with that, when I thought perhaps i could use some sort of metal hooks to stretch it onto the fiberglass underskull, and then my roommate suggested wood...during this time I was also thinking about perhaps suspending some cloth in the mold while the silicone was curing, but what kind and how could I make sure it'd take....BUT THEN TODAY RANDOMLY,

I ended up with lots of excess black silicone when mixing it for the nose and lips, and so I though i'd play with it. I poured the majority into the ear mold, just to see what would happened, and then I though well what if I coat some green foam in it....AND SHAZAMN! I realized i could suspend FOAM into the mold!!!! It takes PERFECTLY and can simply be hot glued onto the underskulll!!!!!!!!!!!

despite all my other worries about school and work, I have suddenly come to the realization that randomly I have a really nice group of friends again...like the kinda friend group you'd have in elementary school...

That and my nerdy dream has come true...that group of friends are also my pack. Yes, we're all actually sculpting masks right now...better yet, it's for class!

Even dorkier still....one friend has even suggested we take our pack to Dragoncon lol. I honestly couldn't be happier. I can't deny my dorkitude, I love this. I will post pictures of us with our progress lattttrorr....

I feeling really jittery like my circuits are shorting. I had a really good mocha this afternoon. Um, I don't even feel like doing my own personal projects at the moment either. Did most of my homework. ok sorta did it. Got enough for tomorroe.

I swear I did more, but for some reason nothing comes to mind. I wish Michael would call me or something. I think I'll pee instead.

So I think I have other work to do outside of Kathryn and jewelry, but all I seem to care about are those 2 projects.

the whole Kathryn thing this progressing, my room mate held my hand as I made the mold today...the most nerve racking part of thw whole thing. It (luckily) turned out to be a GREAT sucess, and now I have to clean out the crevises with alcohol, but, I'm so tired I can't bring myself to do it right away. phew.

I bought some natural blonde human hair and matching eyelashes and the final "aquiring stuff" stage. So I really do just have to cast her now and the whooooole thing should all fall into place and be done by thursday...I think...
ech man that smoothy is making me sick...

So I was totally not ready to deal with today,and I went to class grumpy but then we just watched the Elephant man! I love him. He speaks of exactly my next art project is too...

so that got me pretty excited to continue with "Kathryn" as I drove downtown to get my teeth cast. they were really nice there and dazzled by my hair. the couldn't get over having more than one colour. buh.

I'm so scared to actually cast her now. I she gets destoryed after all this work I'll..I'll...I'll, CRY!

i''ll definately show her off assuming I don't fuck her up ;_;

ooooh Halloweener. I was a doctor and my friends were my 2 most prized patients. They were so funny. We won 2nd prize this year. There were SOOOO many really great costumes though this year so I'm kind of surprised we won 2nd, but happy none the loss. First place went to "toy soldiers". They even had "plastic" stands! It was such a cool idea. I wish I had pictures of everyone oh well I'm sure they'll pop up on facebook eventually lol.

Well, I finally have the interweb.

Not much else is going on really. For once I'm not over stressed, and, dare I even say, I'm pretty happy, too?

Things just seem to be always going for the better. OK OK maybe it's also because I'm finally dating someone who I've been totally head over heels for. Or maybe it's cuz I got new chartreuse Pumas? Maybe it's also that my workload is so much better and more manageable than last year.

I have however become really addicted to designer toys. Dunnies to be precise. It's sort of sad. But oh so fun at the same time...
